They also have a preview list of monsters that will appear in the official Pathfinder RPG bestiary.

Some monsters not in the 3.5 MM (some might be refurbished IP of some sort):
  • Basidirond?
  • Boggard! (Pathfinder's frogmen)
  • Cave Fisher?
  • Dark Creeper!
  • Dark Stalker!
  • Flytrap, Giant!
  • Froghemoth!!!
  • Genie, Shaitan! (Pathfinder's dao)
  • Golem, Ice!
  • Golem, Wood!
  • Kyton?
  • Leech!
  • Linnorm?
  • Mite!
  • Morlock? (Pathfinder's grimlock, perhaps?)
  • Neothelid? (Wasn't this thing Mind Flayer related?)
  • Shoggoth?
  • Slug, Giant!
  • Tengu?
  • Vampiric Mist!
  • Vegepygmy!!!
  • Yellow Musk Creeper!

So it seems some of the Book of Horror's monsters get in. Hopefully, they're be more of them in later supplements or maybe Necro can release something on their own?????????????.

Haven't actually gotten past the first page yet! So really, this post is a threadjack from the beginning!!!

Will read!!!

The Kyton is just the chain devil, AFAIK.

Some of these (Yellow Musk Creeper, Froghemoth) are from the Tome of Horrors, which is also getting a Pathfinder update, so some of these monsters might appear twice.

WotC's Neothelid has ties to mind flayers, but the OGC version has none of that, it appears. It's just a giant acid-breathing psychic worm.

One positive change that everyone can appreciate: Monsters have a flat XP value, like 1st, 2nd, and 4th Edition.

Most of the more interesting stuff, as always, is in the threads discussing the Bestiary on Paizo. James Jacobs says that advancing monsters will be fast and easy, but is cagey on how. I'll be thrilled if one option is "double their hit points," though.

Oh yeah... that's weird. It didn't look like they were placed in the devils portion. It's out there in alphabetical order no where near the devils.

James Jacobs made a cryptic comment that suggests Kytons no longer count as devils. A recent art blog featured what appeared to be a kyton, a balor, a pit fiend, and an ogre mage (now called Oni), and James said that only one is a devil.

That's weird. I wonder what the change is for.
