Bullshit!

Nah, just kidding. It's just power creep which seems to be a de facto with... anything. Anything WotC creates anyway.

Still, it might be interesting. Having almost every class follow the same structure can get pretty boring. I have a hard time reading new classes because I'm not sure where a runepriest or whatever has its place. This may make things more fun.
